A Heritage of Work

Welding to Western Photography
I had the rare opportunity to grow up as a ranch kid from the eastern plains of Colorado.
Unfortunately, I didn't realize how lucky I was to have such an upbringing. I let the hard work and long days obscure my vision of the peaceful scenery and wholesome lifestyle.
I am blessed to have experiences in several aspects of agriculture. As a young boy, I watched for fires as Dad built pipe corrals in the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. Then we moved to Colorado, where I helped my grandpa, uncle, and dad raise cattle on the dry, short-grass prairie. It is a way of life many people never get to see. We worked cattle horseback, roped out in the pasture, and neighbors helped each other out.
Over the past few years, I have bounced around the country. From wearing a suit and tie in Washington, D.C. to running a grease gun for a harvest crew in Kansas, I seize opportunities to try something new.
Despite my various experiences, I have a lot to learn about the agricultural industry. Thousands of agriculturalists have incredible stories and wisdom that surpass generations. But you won't see them in the evening news. They live on dead-end roads. They commune at the cafe before sunrise. They celebrate success and suffer loss in near-isolation. My vision is to bring those vast agriculturalists together and share their stories with a world that desperately needs to hear them.
